| Media Technology Associates is a small group of independent artist, craftsmen, engineers and computer geeks, who live for the challenges on the leading edge of media technology. Our initial "virtual" concept evolved during the down-sizing of the early ' 90's, when corporations expressed declining responsibility to employees who once felt they had jobs "for life". Phone conversations between technically competent -- but potentially unemployed -- friends, pointed out the importance of developing our own business sense as sharply as we developed our technical skills. Academic friends shared our concern for career stability, and the same passion for our individual professional specialties. Gradually, the theory has become a practical reality ! Media Technology Associates is a symbiotic organism. It allows each individual to maintain their traditional career tracks and to follow their passions to develop and protect independent professional skills. As individuals, we pursue each new challenge on our own time, with the same skill-set we use in our day-to-day jobs. We gain new knowledge and the personal satisfaction of independent accomplishment. Our traditional employers gain better employees, from the varied experience and new perspectives we gain from outside projects. Small businesses who couldn't possibly afford full-time technology specialists, have the skills they need, when they need them ! |
