We've photographed people, places, things, parts-of-things, products, product packaging, artwork, still-life, moving-life, auto races, rock concerts, rocky mountains and scenic valleys; in daylight, tungsten light, stage light, moonlight, and studio strobes; using 35mm and 4x5 cameras,; on black and white, chrome and print films. If its shot on film, we can scan the slide, negative, or print to manipulate the pixels electronically, for maximum image flexibility. . . |
 Now we're using digital photography in addition to the scanning mentioned above, to extend our graphic capacities and reduce the turnaround time for the illustrations that we use in our electronic media services for others. Our Kodak 260 camera has a 1536 by 1024 pixel resolution -- about 1/4 of the resolution we get from 35mm film, but high enough to deliver 8-by-10 color prints from our HP printer that look "photo quality" !! It also has all of the "pro" features that we regularly use -- external strobe connections, long-exposure control, as well as a direct video output that can be connected to any size TV monitor, to let us check the photo within seconds of the exposure. Add to those features, the ability to remove the images on "flash-card" memories, the same way we might remove a roll of film; the capacity to directly upload these flash-card images to our laptop or desktop computer, and we have the capacity to shoot a photograph and transmit it anywhere in the world in a matter of minutes, where it can be printed out as an 8-by-10 "photo quality" ink jet print !!
UPDATE: - I'm now shooting with a Nikon Coolpix 995, and have about 4000 frames experience with this unit !! Larger image area (2000x1500 pixels) and better CCD !! Will add new photos soon !! |
