This is one of those classic autosport shots. Hand-held, slow-shutter speed, telephoto pans of a high-speed subject. This is Austrian driver, Niki Lauda, accelerating at 160+ out of turn Pulleveld, at the 1974 "Grote Prijs Van Nederland" - the Formula One Gran Prix race held at Zandvoort, on the coast near Amsterdam. Shot from high on the sandy infield, on 35mm Ektachrome, with an 85-210 zoom, full, probably at 1/125th second. Scanned at 600x900 from the original slide, and presented in 640x420 here. | |
